How petrochemical work packages differ
Petrochemical contracting may be divided into electrical and instrumentation, HVAC, utility piping, supporting civil facilities, testing or turnaround packages. Responsibilities are set by each contract. Experience on a particular process unit does not mean the contractor built or commissioned the entire plant.
Relevant published work scopes
- Electrical installation, cabling and instrumentation on defined industrial units
- Equipment supports, HVAC, utility piping and associated mechanical interfaces
- Testing and commissioning of delivered subsystems
- Overhaul and relocation of specified auxiliary utility equipment
Documented petrochemical references
The scope descriptions below do not imply delivery of entire petrochemical complexes.
Arak Petrochemical: Units 43 and 44
PBR/DB electrical and instrumentation work, raised flooring for control rooms and warehouse-building electrical facilities.
Arak Petrochemical: Ethylhexanol project
Electrical and instrumentation work, support fabrication, testing and commissioning.
Arak Petrochemical: EBD/PBR facilities
HVAC, electrical and instrumentation, utility piping, insulation and modifications to specialty-gas lines.
Mobin Petrochemical: utility facilities
Overhaul and relocation of five desalination units, four diesel generators and related equipment.
Evaluating a petrochemical contractor
Technical proposals should define the exact systems, approved drawings, inspection requirements, interfaces with operations, shutdown windows, commissioning criteria and HSE controls. A relevant discipline-specific reference is more informative than a general statement about petrochemical experience.
Frequently asked questions
Does the company have petrochemical E&I references?
Yes. Several Arak Petrochemical packages list electrical and instrumentation work.
Did Takvin Sanat construct entire plants?
This page makes no such claim. The record describes work on specific units and facilities.
What information is needed for a project estimate?
Define engineering documents, work packages, material lists, site conditions, testing requirements, HSE controls and the preliminary schedule.
